Year 2 - 11.12.2020
We have had a very festive end to our week here :-) The children looked lovely in their Christmas jumpers! We had a lovely day making our Christingles, lighting the candles and filming it all for our Christmas recording. Mr Wilcox will now work his magic, and we will have the recording available for your viewing next week!
In other news this week, the children have written some excellent winter poetry inspired by Snow. They are incredibly descriptive and include some wonderful rhyming words. We will be publishing them next week for the display outside our classroom.
In maths this week we have been looking at division. We have specifically worked on dividing by 2 and 10. The children have worked very hard with this new concept and I have been impressed with their effort. Well done year 2!
In science this week we have made predictions about different types of materials and whether they can change shape, or not. We will be testing this out next week. We also took part in a short live lesson from Chester Zoo. The children loved learning some interesting facts about different animals.
Next week year 2 will have their Christmas lunch on Tuesday – they can wear a Christmas jumper for this too.
I hope you all have a great weekend.
