Year 2
Friday 13th January 2023
It has been a lovely week in Penguin class with everyone working exceptionally hard - I am very proud of all of them!
The highlight of our week was our Moon Coding Adventure. During this the children learnt lots about space, rockets and got to do some coding too. We definitely have some future technology wizzes of the future!
We have also started reading lots of new books. In English we are exploring Tidy, in Guided Reading we are looking at the New Forest Friends and the Litterbugs and our class story book is the Hodgeheg. The children are really enjoying all 3 books and getting to meet lots of different animals!
We have also been practicing adding 2, 2 digit numbers and learning how to subtract 2, 2 digit numbers, in science we have started a new unit on Changing Materials and in geography we have been comparing Kampong Ayer to Brockenhurst We also managed to squeeze in a bit more African art too!
Thank you everyone for returning the Avon Tyrell letters super speedily. The children are asking every day when our trip is! If you haven’t had a chance to return the reply slip yet if you could do this as soon as possible that would be amazing!
Have a brilliant weekend everyone…I think the raincoats and wellies might be needed!
See you on Monday!
Miss Michael :)
