It has been another lovely week in Penguin class!
In English, we have been learning about conjunctions in the context of our book the Big Book of the Blue. We have also planned our own information pages about a fictional sea creature/ Penguins really enjoyed designing these and are looking forward to writing them next week.
In maths, we have been practising finding fractions of amounts and applying this to lots of problem-solving activities.
We have also been very lucky to watch two music assemblies (guitar and piano) with lots of children saying they would love to take up learning a musical instrument in Year 3.
Two pieces of artwork have been completed too - we have painted our Easter eggs and created mindful Easter bunny pictures. Both of these will be coming home before the Easter holidays so you are able to see your child's super artwork.
In amongst all our learning we have welcomed Miss Peckham to Penguin Class. Miss Peckham is a trainee teacher from Winchester University and will be with us until the start of July. I know the children are absolutely loving having an extra adult to help them with their learning.
Finally…a very important message!
As you know on Monday we are going to Avon Tyrell - the children have been counting down for ages! The weather forecast last night said Monday might be the only sunny day of next week too - everything is crossed!
However, to ensure the trip runs smoothly please can you make sure your child is at school by 8.15am at the latest - I am happy to take them from you anytime from 8am.
Could you also please ensure they are wearing warm sporty clothes that can get dirty, trainers and a waterproof coat. Thank you!
If you have questions above feel free to email me but otherwise have a lovely weekend and I will see you on Monday!
Miss Michael :)
