Year 3
Spring 1 Week 5
We have loved our book this week - The Day the Crayons Quit. It inspired us to write our own persuasive letters from our own mega box of crayons. We had great fun guessing what colour went with each name - can you guess what colour Mac'n'cheese is? We gave different colours different personalities, which helped us write the letters.
In maths we have been consolidating our use of column addition and subtraction through a variety of problem solving. The children had to choose which operation was needed and then remember how to complete the different methods.
Many thanks to everyone who has brought in boxes, bottles and jars. We will be using them all during our sculpture day on Monday. It would be helpful if all the children had an old t-shirt or shirt that they could put over their school uniform.
Spelling test will be on Tuesday next week - I'm sorry, the date was wrong on the children's sheet. Home learning is due in on Wednesday. The children will have the opportunity to share their country research with the class on Wednesday or Thursday. I am very excited to see and hear what they have found out.
Swimming went well, despite the pool feeling a little chilly!
Have a good weekend,
Clare
