We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 3

Friday Blog - Friday 7th March

Good afternoon everyone,

Another busy week in Roe Deer Class and the children have been working very hard. We all had great fun on World Book Day yesterday. It was great to be dressed in comfy, cosy clothes - I might wear my slippers every day. The children enjoyed a whole range of book-related activities in the morning, from puppet making to being an illustrator.

In English we have looked at different ways information is shown in books. We have produced our own pages for a class book. The children all chose a flower or tree and, using the Woodland Trust website, found facts about their chosen plant. The finished pages look fantastic and we are looking forward to them being put together as a book.

We have been measuring and calculating perimeters in Maths. Lots of the children found this tricky, particularly measuring accurately - we will keep practising!

Just 3 swimming sessions to go. The instructors changed the layout of the pool this week, so all the children were swimming lengths. Some children managed to swim 25m for the first time - well done to them.

Have a lovely weekend,

Clare
