Welcome to Year 3
Our teacher is Mrs Morris and our teaching assistant is Mrs Shilton.
Welcome back, it is so nice to see all the children again.
Firstly I’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused while I was off sick, we are currently rescheduling parent’s evenings and as soon as dates are confirmed we will let you know. The children have settled back into school well and are really enthusiastic about their learning.
Some super learning, resilience and perseverance this week, well done Year 3.
English This week continue to focus on ‘The Mousehole Cat’, the children wrote some great descriptions about the raging storm, retold the story verbally and composed their own acrostic poem’s about the song Mowzer the cat would sing to calm the Great Storm Cat down. The children had some great ideas.
Maths We have been comparing, adding and subtracting fractions. The children used their knowledge of fractions to solve problems. We move onto addition and subtraction of three digit numbers next week.
Guided Reading This week we continued to focus on ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’, inferencing, selecting and retrieving information to answer questions. In readiness for our learning next week, the children may like to listen to or read chapter 7.
Science Next Week- Miss Lever will be conducting a ‘chocolate experiment’ next Monday (6.2.23). Please if your child has any allergies we are not already aware of, let us know.
