Yr 4 - 23rd November 2018
Round up of the week.
Maths
We have been problem solving this week. We had a lovely morning on Monday working in teams with the Grandparents on two problem solving activities. We have also been using the Timestable Rock star website to increase our fluency with times tables. Finally we finished the week with an introduction to fractions.
English
We been reading further into the “Viking Boy” and examining the characters, the difference between the Viking period and modern times and reviewing the decision made by Gunnar to seek revenge. The children have finished the week writing their own chapter.
Poppy Day
The children had a fantastic morning rotating in their house teams around the school making different forms of poppies. The children also had an amazing opportunity to examine World War One artefacts brought in by a local historian following his fantastic assembly on the importance of Brockenhurst in WW1.
Science
We have examined what materials work as conductors and which as insulators this week.
If you have any questions please do come and see me.
Have a great weekend.
