  • Today, you will be watching the video and taking note of the surroundings.
  • To start off with, you need to watch the video through a few times, pausing every so often to write down what you see e.g. ‘trees’ or ‘a lake’.
  • When you have a list of different things that make the setting, you are going to write some descriptive detailed sentences to describe what you can see.
  • You need to really challenge yourself to write some interesting sentences, e.g.
  • ‘There were thick trees by the edge of the water’ could be extended and improved like this:  ‘There were several thick trees, with huge trunks, standing by the edge of the water, making great hiding places.’
  • Once you have written your descriptive sentences, write them out as a paragraph, in the best order to describe the setting in the video.
  • Optional challenge: Can you use prepositional phrases to introduce some of the sentences? E.g. In the distance…. Behind the trees….
