Year 4 Weekly Blog
30.4.21
Hello everyone,
We have had another great week. We have been trying to get outside as much as possible, making use of our outdoor space in PE, English, RE as well as Science. We will be on the field on Tuesday and Wednesday next week for lunch break so please make sure your child has a pair of wellies or old trainers to wear.
In Science, we have been learning about different food groups and the digestive system, thinking about what we put in our bodies and where it goes. We worked in groups, drawing around one person's body and then placing the parts of the digestive system where we thought they would be. The children have discussed how important it is to have a healthy, balanced diet. With this in mind, please can I give a friendly reminder for the children to have healthy snacks and packed lunches. We will continue with our work on the digestive system next week.
In maths, we have been working on our strategies for addition and subtraction and the children have been applying these skills to multistep word problems and reasoning tasks. They have made great progress!
In English, we have continued with our work on the book 'Leon and the Place Between'. They have produced some great writing and we look forward to writing our own magical pieces next week.
We hope you all enjoy the long weekend.
