We have had a lovely week in year 4. In science we explored the sensory garden and carried out observations in microhabitats. We were then able to identify and classify some of the insects we found. In Art we painted our Andy Goldsworthy pictures. As you can see from the picture on this post the outcome was wonderful! The children worked very hard to ensure they were mixing colours carefully to create the right shade of green/orange/red/brown that they wanted to use.

In English we have continued with our current film unit. We have used the film to help us collect a range of vocabulary, including verbs and adverbs. We have used this to describe our own flying animal.

In maths we have been rounding numbers in order to estimate answers. The children have done a great job at applying their knowledge of rounding. We have then spent the end of the week focusing on checking answers to addition/subtraction calculations by using the inverse operation.
