Welcome back! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and new year. It has been great to see everyone and settle back into year 4.

In English we have started a new text called ‘The Great Kapok Tree’. We have enjoyed reading this story, sharing and justifying our responses and exploring the character’s thoughts and feelings.

In maths we have continued looking at the value of tenths,. Year 4 have worked really hard and shared some great reasoning when problem solving! We ended the week by beginning to divide by 10, this will be continued next week.

In science we started our new unit – sound. We recapped prior learning and experimented with a range of instruments to make sounds that were high/low, loud/quiet etc.
