Year 4
Year 4 - 25.01.2022
Dear all,
For those who are currently at home, I just wanted to signpost a few areas of learning in case anyone is feeling well enough.
- Maths tasks and spellings have been set on Spelling Shed and Mathletics.
- Access: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button On here you can practise number fluency including number bonds, doubles, times tables and rounding.
- Other maths websites: https://www.mathsisfun.com/tables.html, https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/advice-for-parents/times-tables-tips, https://www.theschoolrun.com/times-tables-the-best-ways-to-learn.
- Reading –read your current reading book. Re-reading for fluency and to check understanding is also a great idea.
- Writing – On Friday, we planned our own story using the same structure as ‘The Great Kapok Tree’. Have a go at writing this at home and applying the correct speech punctuation! You could then edit and up level your work.
- Maths – Today we continued to divide 1 and 2 digit numbers by 100. We will then be recapping adding and subtracting fractions that have the same denominator. Practise these skills at home, using the methods previously taught.
- I have also attached some other reading/writing tasks and some different strategies for learning your spellings.
I hope this helps and we look forward to seeing you back in school soon!
Best wishes
Miss Blick
