Happy Friday year 4! It has been lovely to have the whole class back together this week and see everyone back in school.

In English we have started a new text called, ‘Wild Animals of the North’. This is a fantastic non-fiction text with some incredible illustrations. We have been exploring some of the pages and focusing specifically on the vocabulary that has been used.

In maths we have been continuing our work on Fractions. We have been re-capping recognising different fractions and then recognising fractions that are equivalent. The children have worked very hard on this and have been applying their knowledge to some reasoning tasks.

In science we had great fun investigating sound. We used some tuning forks and bowls of water to see what happened when we put the fork into water after tapping it on a hard surface. The children made some excellent predictions and linked back to these for their conclusions. They did really well at applying all they know about sound and using scientific language.

***Recycling – if you have any small cardboard boxes or plastic tubs we would love them in year 4! Please send then on Monday***
