Year 4
Year 4 - 14.10.2022
We have had a great week in year 4! In art this term we have been looking at Andy Goldsworthy. The class have really enjoyed studying his work and on Thursday we spent the afternoon outside in the sunshine creating our own nature sculptures. The class worked fantastically well together in small groups and the outcome was amazing. I have attached a picture of each sculpture for you to take a look at.
In maths, we have been recapping addition and subtraction and using our place value knowledge to help us. We have used dienes, place value charts and pictures to help show our workings. We have also been measuring the perimeter of different shapes. We have tackled some challenging problems related to perimeter and the class have worked very hard to apply all of their learning.
In English, we have written our own endings to the film unit we have been studying. I was really impressed with their vocabulary choices which really enhanced the outcome of their stories.
This week, we have started a new poetry book as our class read. It is an A-Z of rhyming poems for different feelings and each feeling is linked to an animal. It is a wonderful book with beautiful illustrations, and we are all enjoying reading and discussing them together.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
