Happy New Year! We hope you all had a lovely time over the holidays. It was great to see everyone back. The children have enjoyed catching up with friends and sharing stories about their Christmas breaks.

This term we are very excited to be taking part in Forest School with Miss Jones! This will take place every Monday afternoon. To ensure all children have the best experience, the class will be split into two groups. Group one will spend every Monday afternoon in Forest School until February half term and then group two will attend Forest School after February half term until Easter. If your child is in group 1, you will have received a note home with more information about what they will need.

This week in maths we have been looking at hundredths and representing these as decimals and fractions. Year 4 have worked incredibly hard this week and have today applied their understanding to a particularly challenging set of problems!

In English, we have started exploring our new writing text. At the moment we have only read the first few pages together. We have been using our inference and prediction skills and then justifying our own responses to the events in the text so far. We look forward t reading the rest next week!

This week in computing the children have been using Word to create their own party invitations. They have experimented with changing the font, size, colour, inserting pictures and printing the final copy out. They are experts and the invitations look fantastic!
