Year 4
Year 4 - 24.02.2023
Welcome back! We hope you all enjoyed half term.
We have had a great week. In English this week we started looking at our new text. We have worked hard to explore new vocabulary and select vocabulary that is relevant to the characters. The class have made some excellent vocabulary choices and then used them when creating character information pages.
In maths, we started the week by focussing on naming and recognising triangles. Year 4 did a great job of identifying whether the triangles were equilateral, isosceles or scalene and comparing their properties. We then ended the week by describing coordinates. The class enjoyed a range of problem solving challenges.
One huge highlight this week was our Big Brock Danceathon! Last term year 4 worked in their house teams to create their own dances, applying all they had learnt through our dance unit. Today, the whole school came together and performed their own dances. Everyone did an amazing job! The dances were creative and showed great skill. All of the children should be very proud of themselves. We all had a fantastic morning!
Information for Y4 – please ensure PE kits are in school Monday for a rugby taster session. All children are invited to bring in a small cuddly toy into school for the start of our textiles D&T project.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
