Year 4
Year 4 - 10.03.2023
We have had a great week in year 4. One highlight was our D&T lesson. This week we experimented with different types of stitches on pieces of felt. I was very impressed with year 4. They all had a go at threading their own needle, tying a knot and joining two pieces of felt together. The class were incredibly resilient and really persevered with the task. It was also lovely to see how supportive and helpful they were across the classroom.
In maths this week we have moved onto subtraction. We have been subtracting two 4 digit numbers and used more than one exchange. The class have used place value charts, dienes and column method to help work out the answers. They have them applied their learning to a variety of problem solving tasks.
In English, we completed our current writing unit. We independently wrote character descriptions about Fenrir. We were very proud of the high quality writing they produced. We also took the opportunity to publish our work and focus on our handwriting – it was great to see how proud the children were of their final pieces. They did a fantastic job.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
