Year 4
Year 4 - 05.05.2023
We have had a great week in year 4. Today we have come together to celebrate the upcoming Coronation. We enjoyed a whole school worship from Year 1 and then an afternoon full of fun! Everyone wore the crowns they had made earlier in the week and enjoyed some cake and singing.
In English this week we have reached the end of our ‘Leon and the Place Between’ learning journey. Year 4 recreated the place between and took Leon on a new journey. They thought carefully about sentence structure, vocabulary choice and impact on the audience. We have today shared these with a partner in a session where we celebrated what went well and looked at our next steps.
In maths, we have revisited multiplication. We have recapped a range of methods to support multiplying 2 digit numbers by 1 digit. The class have become very confident in applying these over the week.
Another highlight this week was science! The class are really enjoying our electricity topic. This week we focused on making complete circuits. The children loved this practical lesson. They worked fantastically in their groups and embraced problem solving with a great positive mind-set when the circuit did not work.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
