We have had a great week! It started with a visit from Winchester Science Centre where we took part in a fantastic hands on workshop. The children worked collaboratively and had a great morning. A big thank you to the PTA for funding this experience. 

This week year 4 also found out that they are going to be pirates in the production this year! The class are have enjoyed listening to the songs and we are beginning to think about the choreography for our class dance. You will have received a letter about costumes on Friday. If you have any queries, please send me an email. I would also be grateful if you could let me know if your child is unable to attend the production on either Wednesday 12h or Friday 14^th July.  

In other news this week, we have been continuing to explore our class text ‘How to Train your Dragon’ and have ended the week by writing character descriptions of Hiccup.

In maths we have been using our knowledge of rounding to recap making estimates with addition and subtraction problems. The class have used number lines to support rounding and then checked their estimates by working out the actual answers.
