Year 4 - 29.09.2023
We have had a great week. Year 4 have enjoyed their third French lesson with Miss Prichard. They look forward to French every Wednesday and Miss Prichard has commented on their enthusiasm and focus, which is fantastic to hear!
In maths we have been looking at Roman numerals. This has prompted some really interesting discussion around the classroom! The class have been really keen to recognise Roman numerals and have been solving some pretty complex problems too. We have ended the week by beginning our unit on rounding numbers. We have started by using a number line to help us identify which multiples of ten a given number sits between, as well as identifying the midpoint. We will continue to build on this next week.
In English we have come to the end of our first writing journey. The children have written and edited their own stories. They have worked hard to ensure their writing is coherent and by reading our work back regularly we are able to correct where needed. The class have been applying their knowledge of direct speech punctuation and expanded noun phrases.
Reminder – next week we will be celebrating Harvest and will be collecting donations for the food back. If you are able to donate any tinned products or breakfast cereals, we would be most grateful.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
