What a busy week we have had here in Year 4! On Monday, the children who are at Forest School enjoyed another fantastic session in the beautiful autumn weather. The other half of the class also took their learning outside and made their own Andy Goldsworthy inspired sculptures. They looked brilliant and the children thoroughly enjoyed making them!

In maths this week we completed our unit on rounding. We will continue to revisit this skill regularly and for extra practise you can have a go at this rounding game at home https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/rocket-rounding. To end the week we have been using dienes and pictorial representations to add and subtract ones, tens, hundreds and thousands from a four digit number. This has given us the opportunity to build up our fluency and recap exchanging.

In English the class planned and wrote their own endings to our film unit. Year 4 really enjoyed planning and writing their own endings and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm. We have then moved onto recapping verbs and adverbs and have created a word bank linked to our film. This will help us with our writing next week.
