Year 4
Year 4 - 05.01.2024
Happy New Year! Welcome back everyone, we have had a great few days back! On Wednesday, group 2 had their last session of Forest School, whilst the rest of the class created Andy Goldsworthy inspired sculptures in the playground. It was a lovely way to end our art unit and thankfully it was a dry afternoon!
In maths, we are continuing our multiplication and division unit. We have been looking at the 6 x table and have ended the week by moving onto the 9s. We be continuing with our multiplication and division unit over the coming weeks. Please do continue to support your child at home as they become more fluent in recalling multiplication facts. You can access TT Rockstarts, Hit the Button, chant/sing the multiples or use their multiplication cards to recall the facts out of order. It really does support them become more confident and fluent mathematicians.
In English, We have started a new unit based on ‘The Great Kaypok Tree’. We have made predictions, shared our opinions on whether the tree should be cut down and have ended the week by reading extracts of the text with fluency and expression. The class have enjoyed getting to know the text and we look forward to exploring it further next week.
We currently have a number of permission slips outstanding for Hooke Court. Please can you ensure these have been signed and returned as soon as possible. If you have any queries or concerns about your child attending, please contact myself or the school office as soon as possible to discuss further.
We hope you all enjoy the weekend.
