Year 4
Year 4 - 19.01.2024
We have had a lovely week. It has been great to see some sunshine too! The classroom was also brightened by some lovely daffodils. We did then use these to help us understand the more intricate parts of a flower in preparation for learning about pollination.
In writing, Year 4 have written some great narratives. They have followed the structure of The Great Kaypok Tree but linked it to the Amazon River. Their writing has been persuasive and included a range of conjunctions too.
In maths we have been looking at the 12 times table. We have been becoming more fluent as the week has progressed and have used partitioning the number 12 into tens and ones to help us where needed. We have ended the week by checking our understanding of multiplying and dividing by 1 and multiplying by zero. The class have used some great mathematical vocabulary to support their reasoning skills.
This week we have also been talking about Hooke Court. We have explored the website together and looked at some pictures. The children have asked lots of questions which is great. They have also made use of our class jar for follow up questions. They were all very enthusiastic and excited about the trip!
We hope you enjoy the weekend.
