Year 4
Year 4 - 27.03.2024
Happy Easter everyone! We have had a great end to this term, including attending our Easter Service at St Saviours and signing our Easter songs. One of the other highlights was most definitely our trip to Southampton on Friday. I was very impressed with how the children conducted themselves on the train, when walking to/from the station and in the theatre. They really did represent the school wonderfully. We all thoroughly enjoyed the performances at the theatre, and it was great to see that some of the children’s expectations had been exceeded! We were also treated Year 4’s fantastic music performance - thank you to those of you who were able to join us. It was a great way for the children to share what they have been learning in music this term and for them to have the opportunity to perform for a live audience!
We have continued exploring fractions this week in maths. We have been focusing on the meaning of equivalence and have looked at this using number lines and fraction walls. The children have been very resourceful and resilient when tackling some quite challenging problems! Well done Year 4!
In English, the children have written, published and illustrated their own ‘Flood’ inspired narratives. They had some excellent, creative ideas for their writing and used their planning lesson to sequence and record them.
We hope you all have a lovely Easter break. We look forward to seeing you in the summer term.
