Year 4
Year 4 - 05.07.2024
We have had another great week in Year 4! On Monday, we joined KS2 and had our first run-through of the production in the Village Hall. The children really enjoyed being there and performing their dance on stage! In history, we have finished our unit of the Vikings. We had a treasure hunt where we explored a range of evidence that showed the Vikings as either raiders or traders. We then created zig-zag books to show a true reflection of Viking life, using a range of sources and evidence.
In maths we have completed our unit of time. We ended by converting analogue and twelve hour clocks into 24 hour digital time. Year 4 were great at using their knowledge of time, hours in a day and AM and PM to help them record 24 hour time. We then moved on to shape – recognising angles and naming triangles. The class were fantastic at supporting their answers with mathematical vocabulary and reasoning to show their knowledge of angles and triangles.
In English, we have written and edited our own information pages based on our dragon creations. The class did an excellent job of making them both informative and persuasive too. They really sold their dragons through their choice of vocabulary and technical information. They then proceeded to edit and up-level their work both independently and with a partner in class.
Please can we have any outstanding costumes ASAP? Year 4 will be performing in their costumes on Wednesday afternoon during the dress rehearsal.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
