Year 4
Year 4 - 11.10.2024
This week in Year 4 we have voted for our class Eco-Committee and School Council representatives. The children that wanted to put themselves forward for the role, wrote down the some of their reasons and why they thought they would be right for the role. They then shared this with the class and we had a vote. Their speeches were really well thought out and they had some fantastic reasons for why they thought they would be a good choice. It was very difficult to choose just two but we now have two new children joining our School council and two new Eco-Committee members!
In Maths this week we have continued with rounding numbers to the nearest ten, hundred and thousand. The class have worked really hard and built up great fluency when rounding. They used number lines to help them and have applied their new knowledge to some problem solving tasks.
In English we have been exploring different sentence types and conjunctions. We have used both coordinating and subordinating conjunctions and looked at what happens when we use a subordinating conjunction at the start of the sentence. The class have then written a range of sentences linked to out class text, ‘Greenling’.
Next week, we are going to Forest Part to take part in planning a mini-forest. This is a very exciting opportunity! You will have received an email today detailing what clothing your child will need to bring into school on Wednesday 16th October.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
