Year 4 - 14.02.2025
We have had a great last week in Year 4. Our highlight has to be the Brockenhurst Danceathon! Year 4 have worked incredibly hard over the past six weeks in their house groups and have choreographed fantastic dances. They chose carnival themed music which linked nicely with their music lessons with Mrs Thomas. When the day finally arrived, there were definitely some nerves but the class showed resilience, determination and teamwork. Their performances were brilliant and we are very proud of them!
In other news this week, we have planned and written our narratives linked to Flood. During the planning process, the children considered where they would include direct speech and also noted down any high level vocabulary choices. They then produced some fantastic narratives which really captured the thoughts and feelings of the characters.
In maths, we have been multiplying two digit numbers. We have become really secure in understanding what is happening to the numbers and then recording our workings through both an expanded method and short multiplication. The class have grown in confidence throughout the week and have applied their understanding to some quite challenging problems solving tasks!
It was great to see you all during Parents’ Evening this week. It was wonderful to share your child’s successes and next steps and for you to see how hard they have been working through their books.
We hope you all have a lovely half term break.
