Year 4

Year 4 - 28.02.2025
Welcome back everyone! We have had a lovely week in Year 4. One of the highlights this week was our first netball session in PE. The class were really enthusiastic and had great fun learning some new games which allowed them to apply some of the netball rules.
In maths this week we have moved onto perimeter. The class have been finding the perimeter of rectangles and rectilinear shapes. They have had to use the information and measurements provided to work out the missing measurements and then calculate the total perimeter. The class have been incredibly resilient when faced with missing measurements. They have also applied their knowledge of times tables to help them be efficient when totalling the perimeter.
In English this week, we have been exploring a new text called ‘We Travel So Far’. This is a lovely book with wonderful illustrations that tell the stories of many animals’ migration journeys. The class have been exploring the vocabulary and structure of the text and have enjoyed reading different extracts. Today, we have been inspired by some David Attenborough clips and used these to help us write our own descriptive paragraphs about our favourite animals.
We hope you all have a great weekend.
