We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 4

Year 4 - 14.03.2025

We have had a lovely week in Year 4. We were lucky enough to have some sunshine on Thursday when we went for our litter pick, although there was a definite chill in the air! Year 4 represented the school brilliantly and really enjoyed contributing to the wider community. Another highlight was our art lesson this week. The class used press printing and collage techniques to create some brilliant Anglo-Saxon inspired brooches. The class worked really hard on applying these skills and the outcome was fantastic!

In English we have been looking at how to use plural possessive apostrophes correctly within our writing. This is a challenging skill and the class have been really resilient in this area of learning. We have applied our knowledge of fronted adverbials and possessive apostrophes independently to a paragraph about a chosen animal.

In maths, we have come to the end of multiplying three digit numbers and have moved onto division. We have looked at how partitioning numbers can help us divide two digit numbers and explored exchanging tens when needed. We have drawn on our multiplication knowledge to help us be more efficient when dividing. The more confident and fluent your children are with times tables, the easier this area of learning becomes. Please do encourage them to work on their times tables at home:  https://ttrockstars.com/ https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Apologies for changing the plan with D&T this week. We will be designing our own toys on Monday and the class are welcome to bring in a small soft toy for this lesson.

We hope you have a great weekend.
