Y5 - 6.12.19
We have completed our animal Acrostic poems using the ‘Power of Three’ technique and metaphors- the children rose to this tricky literacy challenge brilliantly. We have continued to work hard on our understanding of subtraction and short multiplication, and are embedding our knowledge of 3D shape through Christmas boxes.
Our Christmas door (see photo above) looks fabulous and we have enjoyed opening our class Advent calendars.
On Monday morning, we will be investigating shadows in science. It would be very helpful to have some cardboard boxes if you have any spare please as we will be making puppet theatres.
Your child should have come home this week with a flu letter and consent form. Please complete and return as soon as possible.
This afternoon we welcomed The Friday Club from the Village Hall along with Dr Sue and Dr Mike from Reach out Arts to take part in some singing and dancing. The children were amazing! Their kindness and politeness was a pleasure to see and the smiles on the faces of the seniors said everything. A really big well done to all of Year 5 - you should be very proud of yourselves.
Enjoy the weekend.
