Dear parents and carers,

Our Y5 trip to New Park was a resounding success. The children particularly liked making leaf prints with calico fabric and a hammer! We were told that our children were lovely company and beautifully engaged in the activities. They were a credit to our school and its values. WELL DONE Y5!

In maths, the children completed The Sieve of Eratosthenes to identify prime numbers to 100. They proved why a prime number only has two factors.

In writing, we have looked at the use of the semi-colon to combine two linked ideas into one sentence. This technique is used effectively throughout our class text, The Errand.

In geography, we found out why temperature is not the reason Iceland has so few trees!
