Dear parents and carers,

Attached is a handout of the spellings taught in class and set on Ed Shed for homework this half term. We have also attached a Hampshire Guidance Booklet detailing different ways to help your child learn spellings. We hope you find this useful.  You may have noticed that list 28 did not load on Ed Shed, however, each child was given this list on the Monday as usual.

Year 5 had a wonderful half term with Mr Thomas, culminating in group compositions. Mr Thomas has thoroughly enjoyed working with Year 5, who have shown respect for and collaboration with each other.

In maths we have investigated area and rectilinear shapes, square numbers and multiplying by 10, 100 and 1,000.  The work set on Maths Shed this week will help to embed the learning from these lessons. 

The children finished their writing unit on The Errand and have written their cliffhanger stories.

The children have completed their Chance to Shine cricket sessions. For next half term, PE will be on a Wednesday and Friday afternoon.

For D&T next half term please could the children collect and bring in any or all of the following:

Washed margarine or butter pots, plastic bottles with ridges, plastic food containers, biscuit tins, carrier bags and old buttons.
