Dear parents and carers,

This week we started our new unit of computing. The children were very excited about learning how to use Tinkercad to design their own 3D models.

In maths, we have been recapping improper fractions and mixed numbers in preparation for next week. The homework set on Maths Shed will help to embed this further.

In geography, we have stated our new unit about National Parks. The children used atlases to locate the fifteen parks in the United Kingdom, and generated a Year 5 definition of what a National Park is.

In writing, the children constructed an antonym Diamante poem which revised nouns, adjectives and verbs in the context of our text, Dreams of Freedom. They also learnt part of and performed the poem Caged Bird by Maya Angelou. 

In art, we are continuing our work on optical illusions and will be using this next week to create a cube to celebrate the Coronation.
