Dear parents and carers,

This week in maths the children have been extending their understanding of Roman numerals to 1000 and also how to use short division to divide 3-digit numbers by a 1-digit number. 

In writing we have been looking at complex sentences and how to punctuate them correctly.

The children completed their final lesson in reading using the book Sky Song. Next week we will be starting our new text driver.

In RE we learnt about the Islamic ritual of Wudu and the children sequenced the stages that are followed and answered questions about the practice.

PE was excellent this week as we were finally able to get out on the field and start our athletics training. We were very impressed with the children's running speed and have high hopes for the top spots in sports day! 

In science we are looking at levers and investigating the question, "How can we use levers to lift heavy objects?"
