Dear parents and carers,

The children will come home with their PE kit today so that they can wear them to school on Monday for sports day.

In art this week the children were mono-printing an image of a Buddha with three layers of colour. The outcome is quite magical.

We started our new writing unit, The Tempest. Through drama the children created Act 1, Scene 1 - the ship and Tempest - outside in the playground.  We then thought of rich and powerful vocabulary to use to describe the scene. 

In reading we started our new non-fiction book, North America. The children have  started exploring the continent of North America and the different countries within it.

We have been learning about area in maths and Mrs Edwards set the children a challenge question that Mr Edwards struggled to work out! The children rose to the challenge and were super successful.

In science, we were learning about how exercise affects your heart rate. The children investigated how their heart rate increases after exercise and then returns to their normal resting rate after time.
