Dear parents and carers,

This week in maths we have been investigating common multiples, factors and common factors. 

In our reading unit, we have started The House on Chicken Legs, which the children are thoroughly enjoying. They have made predictions and inferences about the characters and compared settings that the house lands in.

In writing we are continuing our portal unit. The children have written a paragraph using ambitious vocabulary to describe the 'drink me' bottle and its impact on Alice. We then moved on to another portal story from a picture book and the children made predictions about the opening picture and why it will make a good portal story.

In history we continued to find out about present day Maya, looking at the main occupations of the eight million people living in Central America.

In D&T the children designed some fantastic small frame structures for their intended users (animals). We are all excited about building them next week.
