Year 5 Blog
Dear parents and carers,
This week in writing, the children have been continuing their work on Shackleton's Journey. We have now read the whole book and have started to think about the outcome of an endurance narrative based around Shackleton's epic expedition.
In maths we have been working on fractions this week. The children are realising how important it is to know the related division facts to their multiplication tables. Being fluent in this, really makes fraction work much easier.
In geography we have started our mountain unit. We looked at similarities and differences between Mount Everest, Mauna Kea and Mount Olympus (on Mars!).
In PE the children have been learning and practising a dance in preparation for the Great Brock Dance Off!
Have a great weekend.
