Round up of the week

English

We have been drafting and writing a guidance leaflet on black holes using brackets, colons, headings, sub headings in order to organise the information and add further clarity.

We have also started our new text (Floodland) and the children have been generating sentences with different suffixes, prefixes and conjunctions.

Maths

We have begun to look at fractions this week and in particular comparing fractions where the denominator is different for the two fractions. We have also ordered fractions.

Reading books

I will be issuing the children on Monday with an extra reading book. I would like the children to record the number of pages that they have read each night in their Homework Diaries in order that I can monitor how much the children are reading.
