We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 6 Weekly Blog

Good afternoon,

Happy New Year to you all and I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas break.

The children have been excited and engaged in our new history topic this week on WW2! We are going to be investigating the Battle of Britain in our history lessons this half-term, as well as studying literature in English linked to the war.  The children have already been inspired by the texts and sources that we have looked at.  We have also been looking at code breaking in our computing lessons, linking this with our topic too.

In maths, we have started to learn about algebra and how to write algebraic expressions. The children have all said that although it is challenging, once you get your head around it, it can be fun to try and figure out the value of the letters! We will revisit this again in more depth later on this term.

PE lessons will continue to be on a Monday and Tuesday this half-term, so please make sure kits are in school on these days.  New maths homework and spellings will be set on Monday, due to be completed the following Monday.

Hope you all enjoy the weekend.
