We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 6

Work for Week Commencing 31.1.22

Dear all,

For those who are currently at home, I have listed some activities and websites below in case there is anyone who is feeling well enough to do some.

  • Maths tasks and spellings have been set on Spelling Shed and Mathletics.
  • Access: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button On here you can practise number fluency. The games that should challenge the children in Year 6 include times tables, division facts and square numbers.
  • Other maths activities that you could follow would include some of the lessons on Oak Academy linked to angles and shape. This is what we have been doing in class over the last week. https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/angles-and-shape-2e85
  • Reading –read your current reading book. Re-reading for fluency and to check understanding is also a great idea.
  • Writing – We have been thinking about the word 'Hero' and what it means. You could write down your own definition of what you think a hero is. You could then spend some time watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07d2dXHYb94 Write down whether you think Pip is a hero and explain why.
  • I have also attached some other reading/writing tasks and some different strategies for learning your spellings.

I hope this helps and we look forward to seeing you back in school soon!

Best wishes

Miss Martin
