Year 6 Weekly Blog
4.11.22
Hello everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed your half-term break. The children have enjoyed kick-starting some new topics since coming back to school and are now settled back in to the school routine.
In Maths, we have continued with our work on multiplication and division, but we have moved on to some more challenging tasks where we are multiplying or dividing 4-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers. This has been challenging and we will be continuing to work at the pace of the children on this next week, but they have been extremely resilient, using the resources around them to help them when needed.
In English, we have started a new book study, exploring a book called Floodland. We have read the first chapter so far and have made predictions and considered what we think the story is going to entail. We have been looking at some non-fiction texts in Guided Reading which link to the themes within the book from English.
We have started a new Geography topic on Climate Change. Each week we will be investigating how climate change is affecting a different place in the world.
As mentioned on the Year 6 page earlier in the week, our PE days are now a Thursday and a Friday.
We hope you all enjoy your weekend, and any Bonfire Night celebrations.
