Welcome back everyone!

We hope you all had a restful Christmas, and we wish you a very Happy New Year.

The children have settled back into class. We have used these three days to finish off our English unit from before Christmas. The children have written some fantastic time-slip stories, inspired by the book ‘A Night at the Frost Fair’. In maths, we have done a short unit on Geometry, which we will revisit later on this term.

We have also kick-started some new topics, including our History topic on the Battle of Britain and our Science topic on Evolution and Classification.

Forest School Announcement

This term Year 6 will be taking part in Forest School with Miss Jones. This will take place every Wednesday afternoon. To ensure all children have the best experience, the class will be split into two groups. Group one will spend every Wednesday afternoon in Forest School until February half-term and then group two will attend Forest School after February half-term until Easter. Letters have been sent to those children who are in group one, detailing some information about the clothing they will need for this. The first session for group one will begin on Wednesday 11^th January. If your child has not yet received a letter, then they will be in group two.

PE Announcement

Our PE days for this term will be on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure your child’s kit is in school on both of these days.

Homework

Homework will recommence next week.
