We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 6 Weekly Blog Post

23.6.23

Good afternoon,

Well it has been a busy week in Year 6!

On Monday, we had a Science workshop with some scientists from Winchester Science Museum. The children looked at light refraction as well as coding using a device called a microbit. The children had to put in the correct code to get the microbit to make a sound as well as use it to measure the light in different areas of the school. They were really engaged in the session!

Yesterday we went on our whole school walk to Whitefield Moor and Puttles Bridge! It was a lovely day out and it was great to spend time as a class outside the classroom. Year 6's behaviour was brilliant all day!

Today we had an informative Fire Safety session from Kelly who works for the education department at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. Again, the children were really well-behaved during this session and showed a great understanding of how to keep safe in the instance of a fire.

The rehearsals for Peter Pan are going well so far! Tickets will be on sale soon - keep your eyes peeled for an email regarding this!

Have a lovely weekend all and enjoy the school fete if you are going.
