  • Ofsted Report

    Published 26/09/23

We are delighted to now be able to share with you the full report, following our inspection by Ofsted on the 3rd and 4th July 2023. Brockenhurst School and Pre-School continues to be judged as good. During the inspection, meetings were held with senior leaders, staff, pupils and governors. There were deep dives into several areas of the curriculum and plans were viewed alongside children's work. Surveys seeking views from children, parents and staff were also carried out. On reading the full report, it is clear that our wonderful children shone through; their behaviour was outstanding and their attitude to learning and each other fantastic. The report states: “Pupils arrive at school excited to see what the day will bring. They are curious and enjoy learning. Classrooms are a buzz of focused study and activity. Leaders are ambitious for all pupils to learn well. This is an inclusive school where support and patience are shown. Pupils learn from a broad curriculum and achieve well.” Whilst we know that the vision, values and positive attitude to learning permeate through every level of our school, it is satisfying to see this acknowledged by an outside body. We are so extremely proud of everyone and want to recognise the hard work and commitment of the whole staff team. This is what makes our School and Pre-School such an exceptional learning environment. The report contains many references to the special culture and ethos we have all created together.  When you read the report, we hope that like us, you will think it describes our unique setting well. There are of course areas identified for further development and we want to let you know that these are already part of our school improvement plans. We want to thank all of you who took part in Parentview and also those of you who provided comments. The inspector fed back to us that he was very impressed with the number of parents who had taken the time to complete the survey and he shared some of the key comments.  Your feedback is extremely important so please do continue to provide us with your views either verbally or in writing. Staff and governors are committed to working together with you, our children and the local community to ensure Brockenhurst CE School and Pre-School continues to be a place where there is real ambition, all children learn well and their broader development is prioritised.

  • Wessex Rotary Shoebox Scheme

    Published 25/09/23

We are delighted to once again be supporting the Wessex Rotary Shoebox Scheme. This is a very tangible way of teaching this important concept to children and I do hope you are able to help your child/children create a filled shoebox (attaching the required £2 to the lid). The boxes are available for collection from today at the school office, along with a detailed instruction leaflet. They must be returned to school by Thursday 14th October, so that they can be distributed to children in need in other countries by Christmas.
