PDL stands for Personal Development Learning and encompasses PSHE and Citizenship as well as Relationships and Sex Education.

At Brockenhurst, we teach the above through Jigsaw. Jigsaw is a mindful and child-centred approach which connects the pieces of Personal, Social, Health and Well-being education. The programme also teaches children emotional literacy, social skills and resilience in an age appropriate way to support them in leading safe, happy and healthy lives.

The units covered each year are Being Me, Celebrating Differences, Dreams and Goals, Healthy Me, Relationships and Changing Me with these units including topics for example how to look after yourself, what makes you special, similarities and differences in families, maintaining friendships and looking to the future.
