It has been a really exciting week in Penguin class! Back in Spring 1 one of our guided reading texts was the Litterbugs written and illustrated by Simon Chadwick and on Monday he came to visit us at Brockenhurst! Simon did a whole school assembly telling the children about his work and creating a drawing with them and then afterwards he spent some time with Penguins teaching us how to draw Beaulieu the Badger from the Litterbugs - their drawings are amazing!

World Book day yesterday was very exciting too! The children's costumes were amazing and it was so lovely to find out a bit more about their favourite books!

Aside from the above, we have continued exploring The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs writing diary entries from the perspective of the wolf and learning how to use commas. Penguin's diary entries were fantastic and made us laugh a lot!

In maths we have been looking at odd and even numbers as well as multiplying and dividing by 10 and in science we have designed a raincoat for a teddy bear. We have also been exploring medicine safety in PSHE and in PE we have been practising our jumping skills. 

Thank you so much for practising the maths fluency cards (and reading with your child at home). We have checked these cards this week and loads of Penguins have made brilliant progress!
