We have had a great week here in year 4. One of our highlights was our science. The class carried out an investigation to find out whether different objects and materials were conductors or insulators. This week we also started to think about Sports Day! This is due to be held on Thursday 23^rd May (weather permitting). We had a go at some relay races, egg and spoon and worked well in pairs to do the three-legged race. Lots of fun was had, and it was wonderful to be on the field in the sunshine. In art, the children produced some beautiful watercolour paintings of the trees in our school grounds. These will be the backdrop for some collage tree houses in the coming weeks! 

In maths this week we looked at dividing one and two-digit numbers by ten. We worked on using our place value knowledge to help us and have become more fluent throughout the week. We then moved onto identifying hundredths and representing them as fractions and decimals. The class were great at using their knowledge of tenths to support them.

In English, we have continued our journey with Greenling. We are working towards creating a newspaper report and this week spent some time in role as the reporter and characters from the speech. We recapped the rules of speech punctuation and have some great interviews to use in our writing next week.
